with Dr Habibi
Dental implants are a popular method of either stabilising or replacing dentures, overcoming many issues such as discomfort, friction against the gum, loose fitting appliances, reduced function and shrinkage of the face and jaws bones.
- Comfortable and natural function
- Stronger and secure teeth
- The most permanent solution for a missing tooth or teeth
- Speech impediment reduction
- Restoration and preservation of the regular shape of the mouth, jaws and face
Implant dentistry is suitable for people of all ages wanting to replace missing teeth, providing the growth of their jaw is complete and they are in reasonable health.
Usually you must have enough bone in the area of the missing teeth to provide for anchorage. But in cases where teeth have been left missing and bone has been lost as a result, we can perform augmentation or grafting procedures to create the necessary bone.

Traditionally a few major companies, such as Nobel Biocare and Straumann, have dominated the market, especially in Australia. However, in the past 15 years new science and research has led to advancements in implant dentistry, including new designs from a range of companies.
We select the best designs and use techniques suited to your specific requirements. Determined on a case-by-case basis, brands we may use include:
- Nobel Biocare (Replace),
- Nobel Active,
- BioHorizons (LaserLok),
- AstraTech OsseoSpeed,
- MIS and
Biologic materials we use may include:
- 4Bone, and
- Autologous L-PRF (leukocyte and platelet rich fibrin) – an excellent tissue healing aid which is centrifuged and derived from the patient’s own blood while the surgery is being performed under sedation.
Dental implants can be an important investment in your wellbeing, providing a permanent solution for missing teeth. Every case is different depending on patient requirements. An accurate quote can be provided following an assessment of your condition and requirements.
In general, as we offer comprehensive implant dentistry services, including oral (dentoalveolor) surgery and IV sedation at one location we are a cost effective alternative to visiting several service providers for varying aspects of your treatment. Our oral surgical implant procedures are carried out in a purpose equipped clinic usually utilising the comfort of IV sedation, performed by an endorsed dental sedation practitioner or registered GP anaesthetist, and registered nurse working exclusively in-house for your care and comfort.
Patients are reminded that all surgical procedures carry risk. Before starting any recommended dental treatment, patients may opt to seek a second opinion. Results can vary and the effect of alternative treatment options (including no treatment) should be considered. Visit our friendly team to find out more about our services and discuss the best treatment options for your situation.
We are experienced in managing patients with dental phobias and are committed to making all our patients as comfortable as possible while undergoing treatment.
We have compassionate and qualified staff and a fully equipped IV sedation clinic where patients can undergo procedures while relaxing in a ‘twilight’ sleep. IV sedation or sleep dentistry helps reduce pain and alleviates fear and anxiety.
When you wake up you will usually have no memory of the procedure, whether dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, complicated surgical or lengthy dental procedures, and feel as if very little time has passed. You may feel as if you’ve had a deep and satisfying sleep.
Sleep or sedation dentistry is a popular choice for procedures such as dental implants or wisdom teeth removal and other cosmetic and surgical dental treatments.
During your consultation, we will assess your jaws using clinical and x-ray examination to determine the shape and quality of the bone in the intended implant site.
We may use more detailed 3-D technology (such as Cone Beam Imaging technology or Dental CT Scan) to gain information not available in normal radiographs. Adequate jaw bone is required to act as a secure base for the integration and retention of dental implants.
Where adequate jaw bone is not present such as in cases of long term tooth loss, we can often carry out procedures to re-create healthful jaw bone. This is achieved through bone regeneration procedures called bone augmentation grafts and sinus elevation grafts.
In other cases with lack of jaw bone, our experience with short and angled implants allows bone augmentation to be avoided or minimised. Following your examination, Dr Habibi will advise the best treatment for your condition.
Implant dentistry has proven a safe and predictable form of treatment over decades of use. Since their inception, extensive research and developments have been applied, resulting in innovative improvements in design, longevity, prognosis and appearance.
Dental Implants provide a more permanent, healthy solution than conventional bridgework, which can often damage teeth in the long term. They are the best tooth replacement option available today.
Dental Implants are made from titanium, a titanium alloy or zirconia, which have shown to act as inert objects in the body, and which bone cells actually attach to (a process known as osseointegration). Your bone treats the implant as a part of your body and it becomes securely fixed in the bone in the jaw in order to support strong, natural dental reconstructions. Titanium is also commonly used in joint and hip replacements.
Modern implant dentistry has a proven high success rate or more than 95 per cent and our practice’s standing success rate is approximately 98 per cent. Our dental implant patients enjoy improved quality of life and better oral health.
Not all dentists perform implant dentistry. Dentists without sufficient training or experience must refer their patients to other dentists who are trained or to specialist periodontists or oral and maxillofacial surgeons.
Complete Implant and Sedation Dentistry focuses its practice on implantology and oral (dento-alveolar and periodontal plastic) surgery. Practice principal Dr Misagh Habibi is an educator and researcher in this field and has been awarded Master (MSc) of Oral Implantology.
All dentists at Complete Implant and Sedation Dentistry hold (non-specialist) registration as general dentists and are graduates of the University of Western Australia.
Dr Habibi is trained and experienced in all aspects of implant dentistry including diagnosis, planning, implant surgery, bone augmentation and sinus elevation procedures, as well as prosthetic restoration and rehabilitation.
You can book a consultation directly with Dr Habibi, or if you are under the care of a dentist who can restore the crown (nonsurgical) part, you can be referred to our practice for the dental implant surgery. If you are being referred we request that you have an OPG x-ray of your jaw sent with your referral, or made available at your consultation.
